Course objectives:
Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
? Comply with IATA’s DGR for shipping dangerous goods by air
? Complete the shipper’s declaration for dangerous goods
? Identify, classify, pack, mark, label and document dangerous goods according to regulations
? Understand the legal aspects and responsibilities of transporting dangerous goods
Course content:
- Basis of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
- Legal aspects and responsibilities and various players in the transportation of Dangerous goods
- Limitations for the carriage of dangerous goods by air
- Classification and identification of dangerous goods
- Packing, marking and labeling requirements: UN specifications, limited quantities and other packaging
- Shipment of radioactive materials (optional)
- Required transport documentations: Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD), air waybill, and the use of the checklist to verify compliance
- Recognition of undeclared dangerous goods
- Dangerous goods emergency response and reporting procedures.
- Provisions for passengers and crew
Duration:
Initial: 5 days
Refresher: 3 days
Certification
An IATA Certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course and attaining the course mark of 80%.
A special Distinction will be awarded to participants who get 90% and above in the final exam.
